I like many of you am deeply troubled when I see some of the goings on in this world. Especially, with all the hatred being spewed all the time. It starts with the human condition at the bottom and runs all the way up to our politicians and even to the White House. Are you deeply troubled by this world? Click To Tweet
There has been so many things spewed out by the media, celebrities, politicians, and normal everyday Joe’s that people are losing sight of reality and we as a nation really need to step back and look at ourselves in the mirror and do a reality check. We need to study our human condition, ask ourselves some hard questions and be honest with ourselves. Stop buying into the propaganda and stop listening to your friend Sue over there who strokes your ego and says you’re right when your not. Let’s keep it real people and start being honest with ourselves and others.
One of the things that I am seeing a ton of is hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is one of many struggles of the human condition.
You get on Facebook, twitter, or whatever and you get up on your moral high ground judging everyone else for what they do or say, but the fact is if you look in the mirror you are NOT any better. You may not be guilty of this particular so called injustice or crime, but you are guilty of something. You are NOT free from all sin. You are NOT perfect!
Again, you get on social media or whatever and you make harsh statements about this group or that group being a hate group, and the fact is some of them fit the description pretty well but some of them don’t even come close and because they disagree with your opinion or your belief you label them as a hate group.
Differing opinions and disagreements on beliefs or faith does not a hate group make. A hate group is an organized group that ADVOCATES and PRACTICES hatred, hostility, or violence towards another group of people based on certain criteria i.e. color of skin, gender, religion, etc.Differing opinions and disagreements on beliefs or faith does not a hate group make. Now, I know most of you on a somewhat personal level on my Facebook page which is where I see most of this because this is where I commune with friends and family to stay up to date in their lives and I am picky about who I accept as friends on my personal Facebook page. And I’ll admit sometimes I am truly shocked or hurt by what some of you say, but I have learned that voicing my opinion back on Facebook is not the way to deal with it. Social media is not where I want to deal with such battles. I consider these more battles of the soul or ego anyway, and really should be dealt with in prayer before speaking any words on the matter.
I have seen a lot of comments about Christians being a hate group. I am a Christian and associate with many Christians. I can promise you we are NOT a hate group. There may be some small sects or a few bad apples that act in this manner, but if we are truly Christian then we do NOT hate, rather we love even our enemies. If you see me act in a way that is not becoming of a Christian, please don’t sit and talk about me behind my back or loop all other Christians into this category with me. I’d rather you come to me in love and explain to me what I have done and how it has affected you. I do not wish to hurt you.
I am white but this does not automatically make me a racist. Have I ever said or done anything that was or could’ve been taken as racist? Probably. I am human and I am not perfect. If you ever hear or see me speak or act in this manner I would bid you to tell me, but please do so in love and explain to me what I have done and how it has affected you because … again I do not wish to hurt you, and I cannot learn if you don’t tell me.
I am straight and I believe women was made to be a help meet for man. Does this mean I hate those who live alternative lifestyles. No, in fact I love them. I know quite a few of them and would not wish any harm on any of them. This does not mean that I agree with their lifestyle.
I believe not all people in any one group are bad. I believe … IN EVERY SINGLE GROUP (race, religion, etc.) there are a few bad apples – perhaps some more than others, but I also I believe that in those same groups most people are decent people trying to get through life and figure it out as they go just like you and me are.
I believe no parent is infallible, and if you are one of those parents who say, “My kids NEVER …”, well that may be true of a particular scenario, but I promise you if your kids lived long enough they did something they were NOT supposed to do and with you right there because YOU are NOT PERFECT! None of us are. #keepingitreal
Mom with boy who wrangled his way into the ape enclosure. I believe after reading all of the facts available around this story that this was not intentional neglect and mom and those kids were having a very off day. Fortunately for mom and boy – boy lived with a few injuries. Sadly, ape died, but in no way shape or form should that ape’s life ever have been put before that boy’s life. He was just a little boy and so many were touting the boy should’ve been killed. Again, he was just a little boy and I promise you if it were your little one in that ape’s enclosure you would be singing a different tune. As to all other the ethical questions surrounding this issue I believe that’s a whole other post of it’s own.
I could go on with other examples, but I think my point has been made. We all suffer from the human condition. Unfortunately, it involves a massive flow sometimes even explosion of energy and emotions whenever something good or bad happens! And our own life’s experiences will have a great impact on those emotions as they come to the surface. My advice, is to not react immediately, but rather contemplate, pray, maybe even journal about it before ever speaking out loud your thoughts and opinions on the subject matter at hand. This will help you to make your statement from a place of understanding, compassion, and love instead of a reactive statement that might come out as bitter, angry, and hateful which will only serve to spur on others hate.
I am a Christian, mom of 2, and business owner. I am NOT PERFECT! All I can do is strive to do better each day and not repeat my missteps, mistakes, or wrong doings. Truth be told I am still learning how to deal with the human condition and I’ve realized that is a day to day learning process and I will never get it just right. I strive daily to do better and show love and kindness to all.
